Project Management Introduction

The most basic Project Management Introduction exam from PMI.org is the CAPM.  Certified Associate in Project Management is a credential offered by the Project Management Institute. The CAPM is an entry-level certification for project practitioners.

The CAPM certification is your "foot in the door" of project management opportunities.  If you don't have 36 months of experience leading projects, this is your best starting place.

How To Know If CAPM Certification Is Right For You

Are you seeking to add more project management skills?  Are you looking for larger projects or to enhance your value as a leader?  Are you interested in being a part of the 2.2 million project managers hired through 2027?

If you answer "yes" to any of these questions then the CAPM Certification is for you.

About The Exam

You'll have 150 test questions and three hours to complete the exam.  There is also a cost involved, but it's considerably less than the PMP exam.  The exam handbook from which to study can be found at the PMI.org site.

In order to qualify to take the exam, you'll need 23 hours of education credit completed by the time you sit for the exam.  The education pre-requisite can be fulfilled by taking this class. To maintain your CAPM certification you'll need 15 PDUs (professional development units) every three years.

A high school diploma, associate's degree, or global equivalent is also required.
